A Cert IV in Business Administration prepares you for a career as a receptionist, office administrator, personal assistant, project assistant, or can be the first step into a career in business. A Certificate IV can also be the perfect way to create pathways to other studies, including a diploma of business administration. It will give you the skills you need to deal with unpredictable problems, word processing, produce complex desktop systems, work with business documents, and give you information from a variety of sources about what your daily work will entail.

How to study a Certificate IV

If you’ve already completed a Certificate III in the same area or worked in the industry for a number of years, then you may be able to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). Otherwise, you’ll need to meet the entry requirements for the specific course you’re applying for, which usually involve numeracy and literacy requirements to enrol. International students should check with CRICOS to ensure that they’re eligible to enrol.

Many TAFEs and other RTOs offer both full time and part-time study options for students so that you can study at your own pace. Several schools also offer a range of delivery modes, so that you can study both online and in-person.
