Duration study load
- You can complete your Bachelor of Applied Information Technology in 3 years with the flexibility online learning gives you. Studying 25 hours per week on average (100 hours per month) should see you successfully complete your qualification within this timeframe. Each year’s assessments must be completed and marked within each 12-month time limit. You can complete your studies after years 1, 2 or 3 with a La Trobe qualification.

Entry requirements
To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must:
- Understand you are enrolling in the Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, with the option of exiting after year 1 with a La Trobe Diploma of Applied Information Technology
- Be over 18 years of age
For successful admission these pre-requisites are required :
- Have basic computer skills
- You will need to provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (year 12 certificate), OR
- If you don’t have a year 12 certificate, you must be assessed as displaying a required level of competence in both reading and numeracy. Upon discussion with a Careers Consultant, you will be provided with a link and access to a Pre-enrolment Assessment which you must complete.
- If you are not at least 18 years of age, parental consent will be required by completing an appropriate form.
Course features
Three qualifications in one degree
La Trobe online applied degrees provide you with the unique opportunity to achieve up to three qualifications over the duration of your studies. Subject to satisfactorily completing each part of your course.
Year 1
After completing year 1 of your degree, you will be awarded an Applied Diploma, should you decide to exit your degree at this point. You can add this qualification to your résumé and move forward with your career plans or embrace the option to continue your studies while you work.

Year 2
Successful completion of year 2 will increase your chances of a higher-paying position with an applied qualification that employers are looking for. However, you are now well over halfway to your applied bachelor degree so why not continue to study while staying employed?
- Exit with an Associate Degree of Applied Information Technology
Year 3
Congratulations! You have completed your qualification. Your applied bachelor degree greatly improves the opportunities available to you. A qualification of this level greatly enhances your résumé and says a great deal about you.
