- The Certificate IV is ideal for busy people as learning materials are divided into bite-sized, 15-20 minute chunks
- The online occupational therapy assistance course features a simulated clinic, Caresure Health Centre. The online clinic will get you used to working in a health centre by hosting tours, lessons and quizzes
- The online learning materials let you leave comments and questions, which both students and Trainers can respond and add to
- Forums let you chat and interact with your fellow students, while Trainers and Assessors can be contacted anytime through messaging on OpenSpace, our online campus
Entry Requirements
Education
- Australian Year 12 or equivalent OR
- A nationally recognised qualification at the Certificate II level or higher OR
- At least two years of relevant vocational experience
Minimum Age
You will need to be at least 18 years old.
English
This course requires you to read learner workbooks, undertake a range of written assessments and engage in online discussions. Furthermore, the delivery mode relies on the extensive use of written communication. As such, entry to the course requires the successful completion of English to Year 12 level.
If you have not successfully completed English at Year 12 level, you can demonstrate equivalency with one of the following:
- Successful completion of a Nationally Recognised Training qualification at Certificate III level or higher; OR
- 2 years’ relevant industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication
Work Placement
The course contains a minimum of 120 hours of work placement.
The workplace will need to be involved in the delivery of professional allied health services, including occupational therapy services, to clients.
During your work placement, you will need access to a range of different clients who are receiving occupational therapy programs, including at least 3 different clients who require occupational therapy programs to assist them with their activities of daily living.
You will also need exposure to clients who require initial and/or ongoing occupational therapy assessments and/or screening, as well as access to clients who require assistive equipment to be measured and fitted.
