Course Overview

Are you interested in becoming a greenkeeper? This course will equip you with theoretical and practical skills and knowledge in all aspects of turf management.

It is delivered as a horticulture apprenticeship where you are employed in the industry, in a parks and gardens environment. You’ll be hands-on with your employer, gaining the skills and knowledge to develop your horticulture career. You’ll also spend some time at The Gordon to enhance your workplace training

Duration Study Load

This is a part-time course studied over three years. You can expect approximately six hours of class attendance each week for the school year, alongside your on-the-job training.

The Gordon will utilise Gordon Online, our digital learning management system. Classes will be delivered using audio-visual delivery methods to ensure students continue to learn and reach their study goals during isolation.

Entry Requirements

Apprenticeship and traineeship applicants must be currently employed under a training contract and referred by their employer.

Recognition Of Prior Learning

Each qualification is made up of units of study. To gain RPL, you will need to demonstrate that you have the required skills and knowledge to meet the competencies of the unit.

Payment Options

Course fees are made up of two components; tuition and materials fees. Due to the different level of Government subsidy available to students as published below, there are three possible fee levels for tuition fees; concession, standard and full fee. All levels of tuition available for this course are listed below. Only one will be applicable to you.

  • Concession Tuition -AUD $608

  • Full Fee Tuition – AUD $14,468
