Mentor Education’s nationally recognised FNS50217 – Diploma of Accounting Pathway qualification caters to candidates with skills and knowledge gained through career experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting roles. This pathway course has been designed for students who may not be able to meet formal entry requirements into the FNS50217 – Diploma of Accounting.
This intermediate qualification introduces students to a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping skills, including the provision of financial and business performance information, preparation of taxation documentation for individuals and the provision of management accounting information.

What You'll Learn
The FNS50217 – Diploma of Accounting combined with the FNSSS00014 – Accounting Principles Skill Set Pathway qualification provides individuals with the prerequisite requirements for entry in the FNS50217 – Diploma of Accounting and insight into the skills required to plan and implement a range of accounting management functions.
The qualification comprises of core business units of competency covering disciplines including:
- The provision of financial and business performance information,
- Preparation of operational budgets,
- Preparation of taxation documentation for individuals,
- Provision of management accounting information and
- Working effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry
This course does not meet the requirements of the Tax Practitioners Board for registration as a BAS Agent.

- Are over 18 years of age at the time of commencement
- Have successfully completed a year 12 certificate or equivalent
- Have a strong grasp of computer/technical skills
- Microsoft Office (or freeware equivalent) installed on their computer
