How to study:

If you’re interested in completing your Diploma of Counselling through VET or TAFE, there are several study options open to you. Depending on each RTO‘s entry requirements, they may recognise prior learning and experience, so it’s worth finding out if you’re eligible for a credit transfer from a Certificate IV or other qualification.

Many courses now offer online learning options too, meaning you can enrol in a course that’s taught largely online so that you can study from anywhere in Australia or even overseas, although international students should enquire with CRICOS to check that they’re eligible.

You can also study both full time and part-time, with many courses offering mid-year starting dates, so that you can begin and keep studying at your own pace. Depending on the course code and organisation there may also be VET student loans available to help with tuition fees or course fees, as well as a variety of payment options for students.

So if you’re keen to start learning interviewing skills for counselling roles in order to work with young people and reduce their risk of suicide, or with soldiers with PTSD, or in marriage counselling, or one of any other area of mental health, enrol and get started in your diploma of counselling today!
