It’s only human to want to be the best version of yourself – in life, we should always be taking steps to refine the bits that aren’t making us happy, or that keep us barricaded in a place that is lacking inspiration or fulfilment.
Sadly, too many of us continue to live our lives in this exact way, although we know that it is only going to keep bringing us down.
This could be for many reasons: you could be too stuck in your ways, afraid of the unknown or you might just be a master procrastinator.
Whatever the case may be, and although it might not feel like it (yet!), you are the only one who can create waves, initiate a change and shape the most significant transformation of your life.
The way to do this is to take a step back from what you are used to and welcome new habits.
And I’m here to tell you how you can do precisely that.
The most important step to transform
any aspect of your life is:

Holding yourself liable
If anything is going to change, you must first make a commitment that holds ultimate priority. When you make a conscious effort to change your mindset and label the things that negatively consume you as less important than this commitment, you open yourself up to a real shift.
Define Your ‘Why’
Clarity is one of the keys when it comes to transformation in any way, shape or form. We need it, and when you firmly grasp a sense of your ‘why’, you open yourself up to discovering the unknown and really understanding what actions are necessary when walking the road ahead and defining your own goals. You will spark a steady flow of motivation even when it feels hopeless on this exciting, challenging, yet ultimately fulfilling journey of self-discovery.
Majority of us lack clarity in one way or another when it comes to everyday life. This is completely okay. It puts into perspective just how alike we all really are. Whether you are struggling to define your purpose, are unsure of yourself or lacking enthusiasm, you are not alone.
Infuse Your Life
How long do you really want to be tolerating the sting of doing something that gives you no satisfaction, day in, day out? There is always a way out – if you cannot find it, go on and make it.
You should take on every opportunity like it’s the one you’ve been searching for. Choose to make an impact, bring your best and gun for what you really want. It’s not going to be easy: anticipate a fight, but don’t allow it to knock you down.
It is okay to fail – failure prompts growth. When you encounter it, acknowledge it, let it go and keep moving forward with your eye on the prize.
Ask yourself the following questions
Where will I be in 5 years if I keep heading in this direction?
What can I improve this year?
What can I do better in business and career?
Am I who I want to be?
If not now, when?
Just do it! (cheers Shia Labeouf)
If you want to miss out on a beautiful opportunity, the foolproof way to do this is to twiddle your thumbs waiting for the perfect moment.
I’ll let you in on a little secret: the ‘perfect moment’ is a myth.
You will never be ready to take the next step, that’s why enforcing change is so damn hard. If you choose to channel all of your energy into the final result without actually putting anything in, you will catch yourself in a vicious circle that will deceive you into thinking you are, in fact, making progress.
The difference between those who start before they’re ready and those who wait is that the former knows you won’t know what you can do until you do it. Do not miss the train. Opportunities are often late, but they always go away fast.
– Thomas Oppong
Your life is your unique invention – it is up to you to live in a way that you are genuinely proud of.
When you express who you are through your everyday accomplishments, these actions are amplified, and when they join together, they harmonise in a way that is signature to you.
So, go get ‘em.
