You will learn a solid foundation in health science and professional practice, enabling you for work in the dermal therapy industry, and is the first step towards a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics).

What You'll Learn

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

CLO1: Describe and discuss the commercial aspects of health care provision

CLO2: Understand the complexity involved in the integration of various health care therapies

CLO3: Identify the strategies used to evaluate the effectiveness of health care promotion

CLO4: Describe and discuss the different career options available within the health care system and the requirements for each

CLO5: Effectively utilise professional business and personal communication skills within a professional environment for effective knowledge transfer

CLO6: Identify and explain the fundamental biochemical properties of macromolecules of the body composition

CLO7: Identify and relate cellular and tissue structure and function in interactions between the communication systems of the body

CLO8: Review, comprehend, and evaluate new information from scientific literature and communicate an understanding of this in both written and oral form

Entry Requirements

To satisfy the academic admissions requirements for the Undergraduate Certificate in Health Care Communications, applicants must:

A. Meet one of the following entry requirements:

a. Successful completion of the relevant State’s higher school certificate (or equivalent); or

b. Successful completion of a tertiary qualification of Certificate IV or above.

B. And must meet all below requirements:

c. participate in an interview (if required);

d. be at least 18 years of age; and

e. where English is not the first language, evidence of English Proficiency at IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5, or equivalent to be provided.

ACHW will also consider any other documentation which demonstrates an applicant’s academic and time management skills including from formal studies, workplace activities or research. If an applicant is unable to demonstrate their academic study skills, they may be required to complete and pass an Academic Study Skills Test.

  • application for FEE-HELP, a government loan given to eligible students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees.

FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme that assists eligible higher education students enrolled in an approved fee-paying place to pay their tuition fees.
