5 Most Enjoyable Jobs in the Beauty Industry

Avatar photo Candlefox

There’s a huge range of jobs available in the beauty industry, and with beauty products and beauty brands taking over social media like instagram and facebook, there’s never been a better time to start your beauty career.

Here are five of the most enjoyable jobs in the beauty industry.

1. Makeup Artist

Being a makeup artist means that not only do you regularly get to enjoy doing other people’s makeup, but can also be a lucrative full time beauty career.

Usually, makeup artists either go to beauty school or do a course, and then can go on to work in stores or for brands, or can own their own businesses.

As you do more and more training you can also include other services, like being a hairstylist to your resume in order to offer a complete service.

Plus, you can do a great deal of your own marketing and PR using social media like instagram to show clients how good your work is and it can even allow you to travel!

It’s an extremely flexible job that can mean you end up as a business owner, product developer or working in a top beauty salon in New York or London.

2. Beauty Therapist

A beauty therapist can offer a wide range of services, and allows you to specialise in an area that you’re passionate about, while still having the know how to run or work in a salon.

Beauty therapists often develop a client list that remains loyal to them wherever they go, meaning a career path that grow and develop while still remaining profitable.

Beauty therapies include:

  • skincare, i.e. microdermabrasion
  • working as a nail technician
  • waxing and other services

Working as a beautician can see you working in a salon or owning your own, and looking forward to work everyday as you get to see lifelong clients. For more about being a beauty therapist, check out this link<.

3. Tattoo Artist

Many people assume being a tattoo artist isn’t a beauty career, but there are tattoo artists beyond what you’re thinking.

You can choose to specialise in cosmetic tattoos, an area that’s rising in popularity. And it’s not just for those looking to work in salons.

There’s a need for cosmetic tattoo artists who specialise in brows for cancer patients or those who have alopecia or other hair loss related illnesses.

Knowing how to tattoo brows is more than just for fun, it can be an incredibly rewarding career that helps those who need it most.

Of course, in many ways being a traditional tattoo artist is also a career within the beauty industry, and can be very lucrative!

4. Beauty Editor

Working as a beauty editor is a dream job for many. It’s an intense job, but working high up in the fashion industry means invites to exclusive events, free skin care products and makeup, and many other serious perks.

You get to see upcoming products before they’re released to the public, and work with a team of like minded beauty aficionados.

5. Public Relations or Marketing

Working as an image consultant or other public relations or marketing professional for a cosmetic product or brand is one of those jobs in the beauty industry that often gets overlooked.

But like working as a beauty editor, working for a top brand in the beauty industry means plenty of freebies and goodies, as well as much less stress.

If you want to work in the beauty industry, there are heaps of jobs available.

Whether you want to work for yourself or one of the big beauty brands, as a makeup artist or in a business related role, there’s an option for you!
