Get started in a career in aged care and disability with our nationally recognised CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability). Entry Requirements
Students will need to be at least 18 years old. Students under 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete the parent or guardian declaration on the Enrolment Form.
Students residing in WA/NT under the age of 18, who are not currently studying for their year 12 certificate cannot be enrolled.
Students are recommended to have the language, literacy, and numeracy skills that ensure the ability to read and comprehend technical terms and communicate effectively through email.
These skills are equivalent to:

Successfully completed Year 11 OR

ACSF Level 2 OR
-
Successful completion of a nationally recognised Certificate II qualification or higher
Course Features

This course will take you from beginner to professional Support Worker in a maximum of 18-months. You will get a solid education in the fundamentals of aged & disability and will graduate job-ready.

A structured work placement during your studies gives you practical experience in a real-world workplace where you can put your learning into practice and gain industry exposure.

The course will qualify you to work in a variety of care roles, so you have a number of employment avenues you can explore, including assistant in nursing, care worker, residential care worker and residential support worker.

Additional Requirements:

Students need to have a reasonable level of fitness, as the role involves physical tasks such as assisting clients with personal care, mobility, and transfers.

Additionally, where first aid is a requirement of the host organisation, students must have the requisite fitness level that enables them to complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor.
