Case Managers aid the community by managing, coordinating and delivering person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
During this course, you will learn the necessary skills to manage, co-ordinate and/or deliver person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. You can become an advocate in areas such as family welfare, community health, employment services and disability services. Upon completion of the Diploma of Community Services, you will be job ready and fully qualified for a career as a case manager.

The responsibilities of Case Managers are diverse in nature but generally include duties such as the implementation of service programs, the evaluation and assessment of client needs, and coordinating referral processes.
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

E-learning
You do not need to come to class, however, you will need to keep in contact with your Educator and attend phone and/or web meetings to complete some of the practical components of your course. E-learning allows you the flexibility of completing your course at your own pace, at times to suit work and other life commitments. You can work on your course at any time, anywhere supported by your industry experienced educator via telephone and email no matter where you are.
Distance
Distance learning allows you to have the same amount of convenience and flexibility as online or blended learning. The only difference is that instead of studying online, you will be studying via workbooks. Distance learning is perfect for students that prefer to have hard copy resources. Participants wishing to complete their qualification via distance instead of online will incur additional material and postage fees up to the value of $25.00 per unit.
RPL
If you have lots of experience and skills but no formal qualification you might want to consider Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL is a process whereby you demonstrate that you currently have the required skills and knowledge for the particular units or qualification that you want to achieve recognition for. RPL focuses on your life and work experiences, and how they meet the criteria of the national qualifications.

Assessment
To be assessed as competent in this qualification, you must complete 100 hours in a community services environment with opportunities for engagement with real people. It is your responsibility to source your placement; however, we will assist where possible. Depending on where you undertake your placement, you may also need to undergo a police check and will be required to meet the working with children checks in your state. As a trainee Case Manager, you will require access to individuals (friends or family members) to support your program by participating as the client in simulated sessions. Each simulation will need to be recorded and submitted as part of your assessment.
To be assessed as competent, learners need to provide satisfactory evidence to all the assessment requirements relating to their knowledge and skills relevant to the unit of competence. Assessment methods may include some or all of the following:
