If you are an aspiring or working tradesperson, our building and construction certificates are your foundation for success.
This is your first step towards starting your own building business and preparing for the builders registration. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of building and construction projects to be able to complete small to medium residential and commercial construction from start to finish.
We understand that you could be a busy tradie by day, that’s why this course offers greater flexibility in terms of how you would like to pursue this course. There are two online options; virtual classroom, or online self-paced, allowing you to fit study around your busy schedule.

Duration Study Load
For our Certificate IV Building and Construction courses, your study will be part-time and run between 38- 59 weeks depending on your level of experience in the industry.
You will be expected to commit to up to 8 hours per week to complete additional learning and assessment activities outside of class times.
Delivery
We offer the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction online, in-person or as part of our virtual classroom. Study is self paced.
Entry Requirements

You are over 18 years old or over

You are competent in written and spoken English (language, literacy and numeracy will be assessed as part of the enrolment process)

You are able to attend the scheduled classroom training sessions as per the timetable

You will have access to a computer and the internet for the duration of the course

You may or may not have previous experience in building and construction industry

The practical demonstrations of skills on a building and construction site will be required for some units of competency, near the completion of the course. BAA will reasonably assist those students without access to a build and construction site (where required)

Recognition Of Prior Learning
Got at least 3 years’ experience as a site supervisor, project manager, lead foreman, construction manager or registered builder in the domestic building industry? You could be the perfect fit for RPL and fast-track your way to this qualification!
