Before enquiring, please check if this course is right for you:

  1. You must be an Australian citizen or resident. We are not CRICOS registered and cannot accept enrolments from International Student Visa holders (Subclass 500).

  2. This course is delivered on campus with face-to-face classes at our Mandurah campus.

  3. Students must be available to attend full-time daytime classes Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:30pm.

  4. The program runs for approximately 23 weeks, including 19 weeks of classroom training plus 100 hours of work placement.

Course Overview

Enhance your job prospects, by completing the CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support, where you will be qualified to work with children with additional needs. This course Is designed for individuals who are either currently working or wish to work as an Education Assistant in a school environment under the guidance of a teacher.

At this level, Education Assistants may be involved in facilitation of learning for a range of instructional groupings, including students who need additional support. Education Support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools either in mainstream schools or education support centres.

Duration Study Load

This course is delivered face-to-face at our Mandurah campus, located at Unit 1/275 Pinjarra Road.

Classes run Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

The course includes 19 weeks of in-class training, along with 100 hours of work placement in a school. Work placement is completed in blocks throughout the course.

Overall, the course takes approximately 23 weeks to complete.

  • This course has no specific academic prerequisites. Students are required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) – along with photo identification, and meet the necessary language, literacy, and numeracy standards
